To the Sea, 2021

To the sea, from the ones who:

love, respect, admire,

are afraid but curious,

have never seen it, but dream about it,

miss it,

who live surrounded by or cannot live without a swim in it every single day,

... 

 

This series of paintings was commissioned by (so I’m told) a lady who loves the sea.

She has chosen three of these paintings for her new guest house in front of the old fisherman port in Setúbal (Portugal), where the Sado River meets the Atlantic Ocean.

 

Therefore, these paintings were inspired by: the mingling of the river and the ocean, the sunset view of the main room, the beaches and, the Arrábida coastline that surrounds them.
